Healthcare Alternative Systems, Inc. (HAS) is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization providing behavioral health services to Chicago and the surrounding communities. The premier behavioral health resource for Chicago’s Latino community, HAS provides culturally competent, bilingual (English and Spanish) services to a diverse population of men, women, and youth from all backgrounds. Historically it had served the western suburbs of Chicago from leased space in Glen Ellyn. HAS leadership determined that owning a building was the most cost and operationally effective way to serve its clientele. SCGroup Real Estate was retained to identify alternatives and execute an acquisition. Key location factors included location on a bus route, visibility from the street, proximity to the DuPage County courthouse, a standalone structure and good economics. We located a building on County Farm Road in Wheaton and assisted them in acquiring the property. HAS moved into its new western suburban headquarters in 2014.
